anemoia.mx

Anemoia.mx is a cultural platform that documents the moments most people miss—skate sessions, live music, and late-night scenes across Mexico City—through photography and writing. It exists as both a physical space and a digital archive, built to collect and showcase raw, unfiltered perspectives from the community. At its core is the zine, where these fleeting moments are edited, sequenced, and printed—turning what was temporary into something lasting.

brand logo & Colors

The anemoia mark is built as a directional system—each bar deliberately placed to map the brand’s movement between cities. The upper-left elements point north to Chicago, where the idea was formed; the lower-right points south toward Mexico City, where it lives and evolves. The color palette echoes both places, blending their identities into a single visual language. At the same time, the radial form resolves into a camera aperture—tying the mark back to photography, documentation, and the act of capturing moments. It’s a logo about place, movement, and memory, held together in one continuous signal.

Typography

The type system follows the same logic as the brand itself—contrast between expression and documentation. Syne carries the voice: bold, cultural, slightly unpredictable, like the moments being captured. Syne Mono grounds everything else, functioning like a timestamp or record—neutral, structured, almost archival. Together, they create a balance between feeling and fact, between what happened and how it’s remembered. It’s not just aesthetic—it mirrors the way anemoia documents moments: raw, but precise.

website

The website was built as an open entry point—less a portfolio, more a living archive in progress. Designed and developed with contribution in mind, it invites amateur photographers to submit their work directly, lowering the barrier between observer and participant. The structure is intentionally simple, almost utilitarian, so the focus stays on the images and the moments they capture. It functions as both a filter and a funnel—collecting raw documentation from the city and shaping it into something that can live on in print. Not a finished product, but a continuous intake of perspective, feeding the zine with new voices and unseen moments.

Zine

The zine is where everything condenses—digital noise distilled into something physical and lasting. Designed with restraint, it prioritizes image, sequence, and pacing over decoration, letting each moment sit without interruption. The layout pulls from editorial systems but keeps a raw edge—loose grids, abrupt crops, quiet captions—mirroring the unpredictability of the scenes it captures. It’s not meant to feel polished or complete; it feels collected, like a stack of moments pulled from different nights and stitched together. In print, those fragments become permanent—something you can hold, revisit, and remember, even if you were never there.
